STMicroelectronics Darlington Devices

STMicroelectronics Darlington Devices are high-voltage, high-current switch arrays containing multiple open-collector Darlington pairs or multiple Darlington transistors with common emitters, and integral suppression diodes for inductive loads. The nominal current rating of each output is 500mA for the 7- and 8-output devices and up to 1.5A for quad-output devices. The inputs are pinned opposite the outputs to simplify the application board layout. These STMicroelectronics devices interface standard logic families.

50V - 1.5A Quad Darlington Switches - Designed to interface logic to a wide variety of high current, high voltage loads, these devices each contain four NPN Darlington switches delivering up to 1.5A with a specified minimum breakdown of 50V and a sustaining voltage of 35V measured at 100mA. The ULN2064B, ULN2066B and ULN2068B contain integral suppression diodes for inductive loads have common emitters. The ULN2074B feature isolated Darlington pinouts and is intended for applications such as emitter follower configurations. Inputs of the ULN2064B, ULN2068B and ULN2074B are compatible with popular 5V logic families and the ULN2066B are compatible with 6 - 15V CMOS and PMOS. Type ULN2068B includes a pre-driver stage to reduce loading on the control logic.

80V - 1.5A Quad Darlington Switches - Designed to interface logic to a wide variety of high current, high voltage loads, these devices each contain four NPN Darlington switches delivering up to 1.5A with a specified minimum breakdown of 80V and a sustaining voltage of 35V measured at 100mA. The ULN2067B and ULN2069B contain integral suppression diodes for inductive loads have common emitters. The ULN2075B feature isolated Darlington pinouts and is intended for applications such as emitter follower configurations.

Seven Darlington Arrays - High voltage, high current Darlington arrays each containing seven open collector Darlington pairs with common emitters. Each channel rated at 500mA and can withstand peak currents of 600mA. Suppression diodes are included for inductive load driving and the inputs are pinned opposite the outputs to simplify board layout. These versatile devices are useful for driving a wide range of loads including solenoids, relays DC motors, LED displays filament lamps, thermal printheads and high power buffers.

Eight Darlington Arrays - Eight Darlington transistors with common emitters and integral suppression diodes for inductive loads. Each Darlington features a peak load current rating of 600mA (500mA continuous) and can withstand at least 50V in the OFF state. Outputs may be paralleled for higher current capability. All types are supplied in a 18-lead plastic DIP with a copper lead from and feature the convenient input-opposite-output pinout to simplify board layout.
