Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ4317 Synchronous Step-Down Converters

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ4317 Synchronous Step-Down Converters offer configurable-frequency with integrated internal high-side and low-side power MOSFETs. The MPQ4317 features up to 7A of highly efficient output current (IOUT) with current mode control for fast loop response.

The MPS MPQ4317 Converters support a wide 3.3V to 45V input voltage (VIN) range accommodating a variety of step-down applications in the automotive input environment. The 1.7μA shutdown mode quiescent current enables use in battery-powered applications. High power conversion efficiency across a wide load range is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency (fSW) under light-load conditions to reduce switching and gate driver losses. The open-drain power good signal indicates whether the output is within 95% to 105% of its nominal voltage.

Protection features include frequency foldback to help prevent inductor current (IL) runaway during start-up, and thermal
shutdown provides reliable, fault-tolerant operation. Additionally, the device's high duty cycle and low-dropout mode are provided for automotive cold-crank conditions.

The MPQ4317 is offered in a QFN-20 (4mm x 4mm) package.
