L9962 Battery Management System Solution

STMicroelectronics L9962 Battery Management System Solution is part of a complete battery pack balancing, monitoring, and protection system for Li-Ion and Li-Polymer cells in 4-10 series configurations. The L9962 uses a high-precision ADC to provide stack voltage, cell voltage, and temperature conversion via an external NTC. The device cyclically performs voltage monitoring functions with a programmable loop time. A high-accuracy CSA also monitors stack current, running continuously to perform Coulomb counting. Cell balancing is available and can be activated simultaneously across all cells. An I²C peripheral performs IC configuration and information exchange for SOC/SOH estimation. The IC also integrates a dual pre-driver programmable in both HS/LS configurations for driving pack relays.
