Voltage-Level Translator Solutions

onsemi voltage-level translator solutions address the challenges of market trends like AI, Machine Learning, Cloud computing, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These advancements demand faster processing speeds, higher core or pixel counts, and smaller process nodes, resulting in lower I/O voltages for protocols like I2C, SPI, GPIO, UART, PMBus, and SMBus. Mismatched I/O voltages can lead to costly "Oops moments," causing communication errors and bit failures. Adding a voltage translator between ICs can resolve these issues for as little as $0.10, avoiding the need for expensive ASIC or MCU redesigns that cost millions.

FXLA104 / FXLA108 Automatic Direction Translators

onsemi / Fairchild FXLA108 and FXLA104 are configurable automatic direction dual-voltage supply translators for both uni-directional and bi-directional voltage translation between two logic levels. The devices allow translation between voltages as high as 3.6V to as low as 1.1V. The A port tracks the VCCA level and the B port tracks the VCCB level. This allows for bi-directional voltage translation over a variety of voltage levels: 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V. The FXLA108 and FXLA104 remain in three-state until both VCCs reach active levels, allowing either VCC to be powered up first. Internal power-down control circuits place the device in 3-state if either VCC is removed. The /OE input, when HIGH, disables both the A and B ports by placing them in a 3-state condition. The /OE input is supplied by VCCA.
